| | | | Question: ‘Are wind turbines dangerous?’ | Npower says: ‘…no member of the public has ever been injured by wind energy or wind turbines anywhere in the world, despite the fact that there are now over 68,000 operational wind turbines’
| EVAG says: Data from Caithness Windfarm Information Forum states that the total number of accidents as at 31 May 2007 stands at 364, of which 47 were fatalities, including the young worker at the Earlsburn site, and including four people from an aircraft which flew into a turbine in fog.
How can npower state that no member of the public has ever been injured?
There is well documented evidence of turbines catching fire and spreading fire to adjoining land, turbine throw, and ice throw to name but some incidents.
