Question:  ‘Why Is There Uncertainty About the Size of the Site?’

Npower says: ‘…(we are)  unable to confirm the exact size of the site as more research and site studies need to be conducted to give npower the information to determine the most appropriately sized wind farm for this location.’

EVAG says: Npower stated quite openly at their first Focus Group meeting on 9 March 2006, and on their website, that their proposal for 10-16 turbines was an INITIAL proposal.  They have subsequently reduced the number to 9. Their reasons for a reduction altered within ten days. At a meeting on 30th May they said the reduction was ‘because of watercourses and grasslands’. At their focus meeting on 12 June they said it was because of ‘noise and visual impact’.
